In 2010 I participated in my first MBSR course. Since then, mindfulness meditation has transformed my life, in both private and professional fields, and I am delighted now to be teaching it to others.
I started teaching Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Courses under supervision in April 2015, when I began training with the University of Exeter on a Supervised Pathway in Mindfulness-Based Interventions. I completed the Pathway in summer 2018, and was awarded a Certificate of Competence to Teach.
I am delighted to be teaching MBSR to the general public, as I cannot think of anyone who would not benefit from it! My background as a theatre voice coach has also led to a particular interest in the use of Mindfulness for performers, both as a way of building resilience in a particularly challenging profession and to help increase presence and focus in performance.
All my teaching is under supervision and in accordance with the Good Practice Guidelines.
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course – participant feedback 2015:
What, if anything, have you got out of the course?
“I feel more relaxed and have learnt to cope with stress better. I’ve noticed that I’m not repetitively overthinking negative thoughts so much any more.”
“I’ve learned to be kinder to myself, to take time to ‘re-centre’ myself and recharge – come back to now, not the problem I had an hour ago or the things I need to get finished by next week.”
“Control over stressful situations. Less tendency for depression.”
“As part of her continuing professional development in mindfulness teaching, Beatrice asked if it would be possible to shadow the Mindfulness for Professional Performers␣ course. Over the 7 week period, Beatrice took part in the practices, and on two occasions, also led them. She did this skilfully with calm authority, embodying the practice in question whilst sensitively guiding the group through it… I recommend her to you without reservation.”
Claire Kelly, Operations Director, Mindfulness in Schools Project
“I can definitely recommend Beatrice, and her course!”
